Food Valley Ambassadors

The program responds to the food sector’s demand for highly-trained personnel, product/process development and internationalization. High potential second year master students of Wageningen University and Research (Food Safety, Food Technology and Food Quality) are offered an internship for one year at a multinational company in food and life sciences based in The Netherlands.

The companies are responsible for offering a challenging project to the students. Because of the one year internships the students have opportunities to work on a larger project or multiple projects. Recruitment and matchmaking is done by Nutri-Akt, a job placement specialist. The internship program is supported by the Province of Gelderland. During the program the students are also trained to act as Food Valley Ambassadors, representatives of Food Valley NL’s innovation cluster.

Ten years after the first launch the Food Valley Ambassador network has become a strong cluster of high-performance employees and students. The network covers the following countries:

  • Armenia
  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • China
  • Denmark
  • Germany
