Meet Corinne Abbas our new team member
Foodvalley NL is a leading partner towards the development of the Food Innovation Hub Europe to initiate collaboration and co-create innovation projects to address continent-specific challenges regarding the transition of the food system. And to help us with this project we have found a new addition to the Foodvalley NL team: Corinne Abbas.
Corinne will, as project manager within the Food Innovation Hub Europe, initiate and manage international innovation projects. The projects are defined and set up on the thematics of Protein Shift, Circular Agrifood and Food&Health both within Europe as well as in collaboration with the global network of Food Innovation Hubs. Corinne will be the main contact person for involvement of the Dutch ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality as well as the Global Coordinating Secretariate of global Food Innovation Hubs.
What Corinne adds to the Foodvalley team!
Having worked with different international stakeholders over the last 20 years, I hope to contribute to the global ambition of Foodvalley by bringing different partners together. This will be done from the Food Innovation Hub Europe with our partners. But also to see which innovations are needed and how best to scale up. There are already a lot of innovative plans and there is a lot of knowledge on what is needed. But how can we put all this in concrete action and make the change that is so much needed? I will make sure the relevante partners get in touch with one another to create impact.
How Corinne contributes to a sustainable food system at home
Buying most of my food directly from an ecological, nature-inclusive farm nearby my hometown. And doing my best not to waste any vegetables and use them in a soup or sauce.
What can you wake her up for in the middle of the night
A lot of things; some good live flamenco guitar music would be one of them!
Welcome to the Foodvalley team
Marjolein Brasz: "The FIH Europe is valuable means to increase our impact worldwide for the benefit of transitioning into a sustainable foodsystem for all. I am pleased that we have Corinne Abbas joining our team in order to increase impact. Her international (inter) governmental background is of great added value to the already diverse mix of teammembers varying from finance, corporate, research and of course the expertise and experience of the rest of the Foodvalley team."
Jeroen Wouters, Lead Global connections: "It is great to have Corinne on board of the Action Team of the Food Innovation Hub Europe providing additional experience, expertise and organizing power in practical international collaboration activities. With her we can take the multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach to the next level. The support of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is highly appreciated. We look forward to generating and supporting impactful projects to strengthen the transition to a sustainable food system on a global scale."
