Foodvalley Breakfast session Food & Health
On Tuesday 10 March 2020 the Foodvalley Breakfast Session Food & Health will take place. This breakfast session focuses on the relevance and need of healthy food and a healthy eating pattern in a world where the population is aging. Both have proven to contribute to a longer perceived quality of life. While enjoying your breakfast, Sjors Verlaan, FrieslandCampina, Esmee Doets, Wageningen University and Research, and Jeroen Wouters, Foodvalley NL will share their vision on this theme.
A nice example of empowering people to improve their wellbeing and to stimulate a healthy lifestyle is the ProMuscle project initiated by Wageningen University and Research in cooperation with FrieslandCampina, Innopastry, Zilveren Kruis-Achmea and Nutrition & Healthcare Alliance. This lifestyle program, which combined progressive strength training with protein-rich food, is proven to be significantly effective under controlled settings and also after implementation in a real-life setting.
As participating partner in the ProMusle project Sjors Verlaan from FrieslandCampina will elaborate on the role that nutrition and exercise can play in healthy ageing and the course of disease in frail elderly and patients. ProMuscle's project leader Esmee Doets will share with you the latest insights on how to improve the independency and vitality of vulnerable elderly people.
For over many years Japan and The Netherlands share values and interests, such as food quality, health and safety. We face the same challenges in the future: ageing populations and the need for healthy nutrition. In this context, Foodvalley NL is organizing the Foodvalley Summit Personalized Nutrition from June 2-4 in Tokyo, Japan. Jeroen Wouters, Foodvalley NL’s Director International, will briefly highlight this during the breakfast session.
Food and ingredient suppliers active in the plant-based and health sector and companies with interest in food and health are kindly invited to join the session.
