The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in London, in close cooperation with Food Valley NL, organise a seminar at this year’s Food Matter Live, which is being held at the ExCel in London on 21-23 November 2017. The aim of the seminar is to showcase Dutch innovation in food technology and to promote Anglo-Dutch cooperation in food innovation.
The subject of the seminar will be ‘Food & Exercise’ with a specific focus on proteins. Topics that will be discussed within this subject range from innovations in sports nutrition to the development of new products that might encourage children/young people to exercise or might help an ageing population to remain active.
Food Matters Live is the UK’s only cross-sector event bringing together the food and drink industry, retailers, foodservice providers, government and those working in nutrition, to enable collaboration and innovation to support a sustainable food landscape for the future.
Speakers for the seminar will be talking about food & exercise from different backgrounds:
- An academic approach will come from professor Asker Jeukendrup, one of the world’s leading sports nutrition experts and an accomplished endurance athlete/Ironman triathlete.
- Jeroen Wouters, Director International at Food Valley NL and Program Manager Sports & Nutrition at Sportcentrum Papendal, will talk about how the Eat2Move Center of Excellence provides athletes, companies and health care institutions with innovative products and services to promote performance and recovery.
- Practical examples of innovation in food and exercise will come from Dutch companies.
After the seminar the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Food Valley NL will host a drinks reception at the Holland Food Pavilion.
