New business Euregio Rijn-Waal
Technological innovation and new business development
Under the auspices of the Euregio Rhine-Waal, two feasibility studies were started in 2005 and, with the help of Food Valley, concluded in 2006. One study dealt with the medicinal effects of Chinese herbs and the other focused on opportunities for new diagnostic methods.
In 2006, Euregio Rhine-Waal and Radboud University began working together on their first exploration of the theme ‘New business opportunities for plant-based products with health benefits’. In 2007, these activities were narrowed down to ‘functional foods’, which led Health Valley to become actively involved in the project.
