Johan Sand, owner of Paardenmelkerij Sand, says capsules with horse milk additives are ineffective because the many other ingredients needed to produce the capsules dilute their effect. This led him to wonder whether it would be possible to produce 100% horse milk pills. An initial discussion revealed that producing the pills from horse milk powder is relatively simple and practicable. Other challenges also appeared easy to tackle. And so they were.

Successful innovation
In the meantime, cooperation between Sand and the research institute has already paid off. In collaboration with another partner that produces pills to order, Sand now has a pill on the market with 98% horse milk powder. The pills are packaged by the dozen in blister packs. Customers can order up to 72 pills at one time by regular mail. Sand says some customers have already ordered refills, so we may assume that his innovation is a success.
