Food Valley
the international center for education and careers in the food sector
Businesses in the Food Valley network want to make better use of the human potential of foreign students. To achieve this they will try to increase the influx of students into higher education in the Food Valley region.
Traineeships
The businesses in the Food Valley region can greatly benefit from the influx and outflow of foreign students. A lasting bond can be created between international high potential students and the Food Valley region by offering the students a one-year traineeship at companies in the Food Valley region, at Food Valley itself and at Wageningen UR.
Ambassadors
The prospective ‘ambassadors’ are given a year’s training in the skills they need to convince others of the power of the Food Valley cluster. Then, whether they remain in the Netherlands or return to their home country, they can pass on their enthusiasm about the opportunities in the Food Valley to businesses and universities abroad. They can also support efforts to attract foreign students and investors. Meet our ambassadors...
The program started in 2007-2008 with five students. From 2008-2009, Food Valley will take on at least 10 student ambassadors per year. The best of these students are offered a scholarship to study and begin their international career in the Netherlands.
Ambassador network
If this initiative succeeds, a valuable network will result. Alumni will form an international Food Valley Ambassador network. This network will grow into a high-quality link between the region and the international food industry.
