Dutch Food Valley Classic

Since 2007 Food Valley has lent its name to an international cycling race, the Dutch Food Valley Classic. This Dutch contest winds its way through the entire Food Valley region, finishing in Veenendaal.

Focus on good nutrition
Healthy nutrition is an important policy focus for the Dutch National Olympic Committee (NOC*NSF) the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the Royal Dutch Cycling Union (KNWU). The race’s motto is ‘Sound nutrition, sound body, improve your performance.’ An apt phrase for Food Valley, international research heart of the Dutch agro-food sector!

Parcours through the entire Food Valley
The parcours runs along the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, through the Gelderse Vallei, parts of the Betuwe, the Veluwe and the Rijk van Nijmegen, and around Arnhem. Among the most important obstacles are the Emma Pyramid (Posbank) and the Grebbeberg.
